She sang into the sunset...

Monday, June 23, 2014

Certain photoshoots leave a mark and change you forever.  This was one of those shoots.  I have known Kristine for almost all my life so when she approached me about taking new portraits of her to represent her new direction in her signing career I knew I had to nail it.  She is one of the most naturally beautiful people I know both inside and out.  We can go from having a deep heart to heart to laughing hysterically in about 30 seconds.  This photoshoot was done almost a year ago to the date  and I cannot believe I haven't shared them until now!  The final look was the mermaid sequin gown,  I knew from the beginning I wanted this look along the water right as the sun was about to set.  Possibly my deep love of all things Disney but was definitely channelling my inner Little Mermaid :) As soon as we got all the shots I needed I asked Kristine to sing as I switched my camera to record some video footage.  She has one of the most beautiful voices in the world...soothing, full of emotion and powerful.   She sang as the sun set into the horizon and tears trinkled down my cheek.  A perfect ending to a perfect day.

Huge love and thanks to the incredible creative team for the shoot!

Life in Photos | Niagara Falls

Friday, June 20, 2014

A few weeks ago my hubs Ko and I took a little weekend escape to Niagara Falls for some rest and relaxation.  It turned out to rain for the majority of the weekend but we loved it anyway.  Something about the rain gives you permission to just relax.  I read, caught up on sleep, explored the falls and most importantly got to rest and spend quality time with my Mr! Enjoy!

Coco Lane

white tee & jean vest JCrew  |   black dress Sheinside  |  jewelry Coco Lane

Smile all, tomorrow is Friday! :) Happy to be sharing some gorgeous jewelry from Coco Lane today! They sent me some gorgeous pieces and I have been smitten with them since they arrived.  My favourite? The triple drop earrings, I wear them all the time! The best thing about them is that you can dress them up and keep it casual when wearing a simple t-shirt!

Big love to my bestie Georgia for helping me snap these photos of myself! It's not often I get in front of the camera! ;)

Lots of love

Kindergarten Wonderland with Joanne Babalis

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

A few months ago I was asked by one of my oldest childhood friends Joanne Babalis to come and speak to her kindergarten class about photography and snap some fun photographs while I was there. I was so excited, I had only seen Joanne's classroom through her Instagram and knowing Joanne's passion and deep love for teaching, creativity and arts & crafts I knew I was in for a treat.  But what awaited me when I arrived went beyond anything I could have imagined.  I didn't walk into a kindergarten classroom I walked into a magical kids wonderland.  I was speechless.

This blew my mind, rainbow coloured mason jars filled with supplies!

When we were kids Joanne and I would lock ourselves up in the basement and do arts and crafts all day long.  I remember coming home and explaining to my parents how I needed an art table too just like Joanne's! lol luckily my parents have supported my creativity since I was a child and they turned a corner of our unfinished basement into my little art area.

Joanne taught and inspired me so much as a kid, walking into her kindergarten classroom was like walking back into my childhood.  An explosion of creativity, fun and wonder.  I could see how much her students absolutely adored her (oh my gosh what a cute bunch of kids!) and it made me proud to see that she is still inspiring creativity into all her students just as she did for me.

Making mini engagement rings for the little girls in the class for the big wedding!
You all know this was my favourite part? Frozen! Joanne also plays disney soundtracks throughout the day and the kids would stop and sing along...my favourite was when "let it go" came on and all the kids starting singing along...perfection!
Two IG snaps from the day, the kids asked the cutest questions about photography and then I let them all take a photo of Joanne!

Not sure about you but I bet every kid wants their kindergarten classroom to be like this one! Hope you all enjoyed :)

Lots of love,
Anna
