Domesticate Me: Christmas Cookies
Wednesday, December 21, 2011
So I guess I didn't get kicked out of the kitchen after all...I managed to snap a bunch of photos as my mother sister and I baked throughout the evening. Eventually I got tired of washing my hands every 3 seconds to go back and forth from rolling out the dough to handling the camera so I put it away for good.
These are cookies are called "Kourabiedes" in Greek....basically walnut sugar butter cookies....you can just call them snow or icing sugar cookies. They are delicious and heavenly...I will be eating them non-stop throughout the Holidays.
On a complete side-note...the title of this blog post may very well develop into a series come January. There is a bit of an on going joke in the family about how I am not really "domestic"...like, at all...seriously sometimes it's pretty pathetic. By the end of making the these cookies I looked like a snowman.
I've been thinking about doing this series since the summer but kept pushing it back and back. I just rather spend all my spare time taking photographs and blogging then mastering the art of cooking etc. Buuut I think it's a time I learned a thing or two! Lesson from this experience? Wear an apron.
We'll see what January brings :) xoxo

[Every week I will share with you a collection of photos from my day-to-day life...no real rhyme or reason, anything and everything from where I have been, things I'm coveting, new finds, my obsession with colour, sequins & Starbucks......you get the idea. Hope you all enjoy!! xo]
My pink Christmas tree (some of you might remember it from last year! Added a few new ones)
Fancy shoes and fancy headbands...I'm ready for the Holidays!
Twas the week before Christmas! Who's excited? I got some wrapping done and watched a few Christmas movies on TV throughout the weekend so its finally beginning to feel more and more like Christmas. Hope you all have a wonderful Monday

Happy Hump Day!
Every year it's the same thing...we all swear we will get everything done early for the holidays yet somehow the days in December slip away faster than you can say Naughty or Nice. We try and get our tree up before December 9th this year late at night on December 8th it went up! At least it got done......with no help from me......I think my family finally understands that when I say I'll "help" it really means keep them company and take photos of what is going on for a blog post...and also doing stuff like this:
Tonight we having baking on the agenda...lets see how quickly my camera is banned from the kitchen ;)

Last week we had a little get together to celebrate my mama's birthday ("the one before the big one" as she phrased it) and my name day (also known as Saint's Day). After a long busy week it was so nice to kick back and spend quality time with family and friends. Above are some photos from the weekend.
Hope you all have a wonderful day! xo
